INGROWN HAIR - FAQ's, Treatment & ProductsThis video is an informational video about ingrown hair. I get a lot of questions about shaving, but recently I have been getting a lot of questions about ingrown hairs. In this video, I talk about what ingrown hair is…how hairs become ‘ingrown’, and how to treat these ingrown hairs. Basically, you have to exfoliate and use something like a gentle (or even moderate) peel. Preferably, an aha/bha peel is best :) … like a blend of glycolic acid and salicylic acid for example. Remember when Andre said he used a great ingrown hair treatment peel in our interview video? Well, I finally got the name of it and it is called Anthony Logistics Ingrown Hair Treatment. I have used it myself and it is pretty decent and does the job :) The other product I discussed is from Peter Thoma

I use AHA and BHA products from Paula’s Choice, have done so for about six months and there is a significant improvement in my skin! I use the BHA 2% lotion every day (at night) and I use the AHA 10% liquid once per week.
Thanks for the tip regarding “hangnails”, I will try it!

Hey man what do you recommend about the ingrown hair scars I have one tiny one on my jawline? Thanks !

What do you think about using AHA/BHA on armpits and bikini line? As a woman, these are problem areas because the hair is particularly coarse and they’re sensitive spots, so physical exfoliants/trying to dig out the hair is painful. Do you think it would be safe to use a chemical exfoliant? Do you have any recommendations on percentages when I’m shopping for an AHA/BHA product?

Yay, you’re back! Thanks for the tip about removing the dead skin around your fingernails! I get that all of the time and always end up resorting to using a nail file on them. Using an exfoliant seems a lot less harsh :)

Homemade tend skin- add desired number of reg white aspirin to witch hazel & shake. Shake before each use. You can add aloe to this to make it more of a gel. Works JUST as good as $ tendskin. Hope that helps someone! I am a woman, and I use this on my bikini line!

Hey Michael, good to see back on youtube. Have you heard about Tend Skin? Any thoughts on that? thanks for another good video.

  41. kinomie98 says:

Great video! Another more affordable option of an AHA lotion/cream is The Alpha Hydroxy. It’s a 10% Glycolic lotion that works great for acne, wrinkles, ingrown hairs, and just a nice gentle exfoliation. It costs less than $15 at Walgreens. Hope this helps.

  42. oromaoroma1 says:

    Very informative.

  43. emmycantbemeeko says:

Great video, but fyi the bumps in keratosis pilaris are actually caused by the buildup of excess keratin at the edges of the hair follicles, not by ingrown hairs (although treating the skin harshly to try to remove the bumps might predispose you to more ingrowns, I suppose).

  44. Picotee810 says:

    great info, envy your skin…*.*

  45. karimenlee says:

I have the same problem with the nail thing. thanks for the advise.
